Manaslu or mountain of spirit is 8th highest mountain in the world and located in Gorkha region in Nepal. It’s located between Annapurna and Lang Tang area and near to Tibet border.
The first try on Manaslu was in 1950 by Tilman but after few tries in different years, Japanese in 1956 reached the top.
I decided to climb Manaslu in spring 2011; accompany a group of 11 men from my country.
We reached on 5 April to Samagon, after one week trekking in very beautiful area. Samagon(3500m) is the last village before the base camp.
On 8 April we had arrived Base camp(4850m), after 2 days for setting BC and Puja day (Tibetan pry for mountain) on 11 April we started our climbing. After 18 days try, finally we reached summit on 29 April at 15:20 with a big group: 8 members and 5 sherpas.
Manaslu is a very dangerous mountain because of bad weather (weather changes there quickly) heavy snow falls, crevasses, falling seracs, and avalanche.
Before Summit there is a nice view of Tibet specially Shishapangma, the only 8000m which is located completely in Tibet . Also you can see a part of Annapurna mountain.
Trekking around Manaslu is one of the best trekking paths due to beauty of nature and local people’s culture.
It was my 2nd record: First Iranian woman on Top of Manaslu.
